(Fair Trade, organic OCIA certified, shade grown)

Sumatra Mandheling is grown on the slopes of Mount Leuser, a volcano near the port of Padang, in the Batak area of Aceh. This home to one of the most ancient and bio-rich ecosystems on the planet. Mandheling coffees are named in honor of the Mandailing people.

This coffee is grown in the environmentally sensitive buffer zone to Gunung Leusser National Park which is a sanctuary for endangered species such as the Sumatran Tiger. A rare coffee from the Central District of Aceh, better known as Gayo land, it's full bodied with a spice-like aroma, smooth dry flavor, and low in acidity.

This area was formed by volcanic activity, and their mineral-rich soil—fortified with volcanic ash and diverse plant life—have helped to make Indonesia's coffees among the most famous and celebrated around the world.

Cupping Notes- sweet tobacco, chocolate and spice notes.
